• Was the 32nd president of the United States
• After Pearl Harbor, he went to a state of total war in which he dedicated all resources towards the war effort
• Launched the D-Day attack- Battle of Normandy
• Really pushed for a United Nations Organization
• Had a very terrible disease called polio
• Served as President for 12 years after the Republicans had been in the White House for that same amount of time
• Was a very good leader when the United States was struggling
• Helped devise strategies in order to defeat Germany
• He wanted to keep China under his wing for trade opportunities
• Was credited for putting the United States onto the World Stage
• The US on the World Stage was seen as a very predominant power
