Victory in Granada

-Granada was the last Muslim state in Spain
-after taking over the other Muslim states the Spanish pushed toward Granada
-fighting for control of Granada went on for many years
-finally in November 1491 Muhammad was forced to sign a treaty
-January 2, 1492 treaty took effect
-Spanish finally re-entered city and took control
-Muslims  now lived in fear and rarely left their house
-Sultan Muhammad was exiled from Granada
