The Battle of the Bulge "Hitler's Last Offensive"
By Adrian Najar

The Battle of the Bulge was Hitlers Counter-Offensive as a result of the Allied Forces Successful D-day attack on Normandy or "Operation Overlord." The Battle of the Bulge Lasted from December 16, 1944- January 25, 1945. The attack caught the Allied Forces off guard and resulted in killing around 89,500 US soldiers. The attack was meant to capture the allies Fuel Depot. The Attack started in the Ardennes Forest, at first they took out the 106th division successfully, killing 416 men, wounding 1246, and 7001 were missing. On the 22nd of December, Hitler sent a message to the allies, telling them to surrender. The allies made a counter-offensive on the 23rd. Around the 25th, the German army was no longer trying to defend the gained area, but attack all out to the front as much as possible. After a while the German forces ran out of fuel and ammunition, abandoning tanks and vehicles. The Villagers of Ardennes sheltered, gave food, and gave fuel to the allied forces to relieve the allies. Soon after in January the Germans were retreating, the battle ended around January 25, 1945  when the allies have gained back all their lost territory from the beginning of the battle.
